By August 30 1756 under the decree empress Elizaveta are founded  Imperial theatres, which were state theatres in management of an imperial court yard.
         A conducting role in development of theatrical art of 19 centuries belonged to the Moscow Small theatre and to Petersburg Alexandrinsky theatre, on a line with which there is a set provincial ones ( in Kiev, Odessa, Saratov, Kazan, Irkutsk etc.).
         The plays of Ostrovsky, Leo Tolstoy, Shakespire, Molier, Shiller, Hugo made the basic repertoir.

  Since 10 years was the pupil of the shoemaker, then the turner, worked as the clerk, the loader. With the musical letter has got acquainted, participating in church choruses. In 1890 has acted in troupe Semenov-Samarsky, Ufa city. Acted in various enterprises on cities of Russia.

   In 1894 it is accepted in Mariinsky theater troupe where it is ripe 9 parties. In 1899 has passed in the Big theatre. After triumphal performances in Italy (1901, theatre " La Scala ") foreign performances of Shalyapin have begun. 
   He was the participant of   Dyagilev  performances  "Russian seasons abroad" (1907-1909 and 1913, Paris).  With 1914 Shalyapin acted in private opera enterprises.
   In 1922 has left on performances abroad and has not returned in USSR.

   The Russian actor of an opera, bass. After termination a spiritual school sang in church chorus. Was trained to singing at G.Kazella and in the Petersburg theatrical school at F.Richi. With 1856 acted on a stage of the Petersburg opera theatre under a name Vasiliev 1-st. The first executor Pimen in an opera "Boris Godunov ".He had a vote of the large sound and wide range.
   In 1881 Vasiliev has left a stage.
