Opening of new theatre which was named Alexandrinsky by name wives Nikolay 1, was held August, 31, 1832 at the presence of king and the elected public. It took a significant place in cultural life of St. Petersburg. In middle of before last century it was unique Russian drama theatre of capital. At the end of 1860 the theatre has put A.K.Tolstoy's drama "John Terribl's Death", and in 1870 A.S.Pushkin's tragedy "Boris Godunov". By the end
of century the troupe of theatre shone with such names, as K.Varlamov, V.Davydov, V.Dalmatov,V.Komissarzhevskaja, M.Pisarev, M.Savina, V.Strel'skaja, P.Strepetova,V.Michurina-Samojlova, J.Jur'ev. The masters of Russian stage glorified subsequently K.Jakovlev, B.Gorin-Gorjajnov, Korchagina-Alexandrovskaya have begun to act in the beginning of 20 centuries. |
